Orthopedic surgeon R. Michael Cobb, M.D., specializes in sports medicine, arthroscopy, joint replacement, and joint reconstruction at West Tennessee Bone & Joint Institute’s location in Jackson.
Dr. Cobb earned his medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis. He completed two residencies in Memphis, at Memphis City Hospital and Campbell Clinic Orthopedics.
A fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Dr. Cobb has dedicated his career to serving patients and expanding education in the field of orthopedics. He’s also a member of several professional organizations, including the Tennessee Medical Association, the Tennessee Orthopedic Society, and the West Tennessee Physicians’ Alliance.
Dr. Cobb is one of a select few American physicians trained in the Oxford™ Unicompartmental Knee System surgical technique. This FDA-approved system is less invasive than other knee implants, and benefits include shorter recovery times and increased mobility following surgery.
Dr. Cobb is married to his wife, Judy, and they have two kids. Dr. Cobb enjoys cycling, woodworking, and spending time with family.
