Make sure that jammed finger’s not broken

Fractured fingers can be mistaken for jammed fingers if a doctor doesn’t evaluate the injury in time.

When finger fractures go undiagnosed, athletes can experience permanent damage. Finger bones that are out of position can heal poorly, resulting in a misshapen digit, a loss of 25 to 50 percent of range of motion, and the inability to make a fist.

“I see this all too often, particularly with young athletes – undiagnosed finger fractures.” said Dr. Michael Dolan with West Tennessee Bone and Joint Institute. “And often, by the time I see the athlete, there’s little I can do.”

Proud sponsors of a football jamboree

We recently partnered with STAR Physical Therapy in Dyersburg to be the title sponsors of the 2024 STAR Physical Therapy/West Tennessee Bone and Joint High School Football Jamboree.

Our clinics are entering our 20th year together of providing sports medicine coverage for Dyersburg High School!

Representing STAR Physical Therapy were Matt Lynch, Drake Parker and Ross Maldonado. Representing West Tennessee Bone and Joint were Dr. Jason Hutchison, Leigh Ann Brandeberry, and Matt Granner.

Joining them on the field representing Dyersburg City Schools were DHS Principal Kamela Rogers and Trojan Football Head Coach Bart Stowe.

Supporting Haywood County students

Taran Coleman, FNP-C, and his staff brought a donation of 800 Band-Aids to Haywood High School for teachers to have in their classrooms. We are proud to be able to support Haywood Tomcats and enjoy being a part of the Brownsville community!

We’re getting closer!

Construction of our new medical facility at 50 Capital Avenue in Jackson is coming along! The 55,000-square-foot building, on the northeast corner of I-40 and U.S. 412, will be large enough to host our Jackson providers and services under one roof.

We expect to move in later this year.
